Alumni Meetings:

First let me thank all of you for making your way to the southside for Thursdays meeting. With that showing the first meeting there is no doubt that we will need to make better accommodations for future meetings. As we discussed there will be monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month so the next meeting will be 1/12. The location will be decided and sent out a later. If you have any ideas, send them to Peebles.

Here is a brief overview of the meeting, what was discussed, and what we have lined up for the near future. For those of you who volunteered to form the Mission/Charter/Purpose statement please contact each other so we can have that wrapped up by the New Year as discussed.

Old Business:

Finances: We are very close to hitting the original goal of $2K. With Pig Roast in mind and the ideas we were discussing (i.e.- Bus for Alumni from Richmond to Farmville) we are increasing that goal to $4K. This should not be difficult.

Leadership: Instead of a full list of officers, the alumni association will be limited to 4-5 leads who will solicit others to form small committees, circles, etc...

New Business:

Mission Statement: We discussed the ingredients to this. Now it is up to the the "The Three Bald Men" put it down on paper. I believe the three of you were going to work on this and work with Peebs and a few others to put a final Statement together. Below are the topics we wanted to cover:

  1. Better the Man
  2. Brotherhood
  3. Communication
  4. Maintaining/Perpetuate
  5. Heritage
  6. Support/Leadership/Guidance (not all Financial)
  7. Greek System Support

Website: Kedric has offered to do all of the development. However, we are still looking for content ideas. Feel free to send your ideas to Kedric or hold on to them until next months meeting.

Finances: With a new goal of $4K, here are the items that we discussed for 2007's budget.

  1. 2 Scholarships (plaque for active brother/ $500 for chapter to spend wisely. Would like to have in place by fall 2008.
  2. Buss to Pig Roast
  3. 2 bands at Pig Roast (alumni to help with the additional expenses)
  4. Paypalaccount
